Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a healing, active relaxation practice that is about slowing down and going inward. It brings about homeostasis by naturally activating the relaxation response in the practitioner through the parasympathetic nervous system. Being a trauma-informed style of Yoga, it allows a safe space for our minds to process all of the thoughts and emotions that we often push aside during our busy day-to-day.

 

Perfect for beginners to seasoned yogis alike, the asanas (poses) are held for anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes while being completely supported by props for maximum comfort and ease. Allowing the body and mind to melt into the asanas allows for some pretty amazing shifts to occur. You might feel like you've had a massage or chiropractic adjustment, counseling session, and a really good nap by the end of the practice.

 

In our sessions, we will journey through the five koshas (sheaths) to bring our inner experience closer to our true nature, which is ananda (bliss). We can also combine Reiki with the practice to further facilitate the healing process that is inherent to Restorative Yoga.

Individual, private classes are available and offered on a sliding scale of $60 - $100.​
